Vintage Japan 'Pearls' for June!

http://www.arabellabianco.co.uk/earrings/vintage-white-pink-faux-pearl-earrings-Japan.html The birthstone for June is the pearl!

This gorgeous pair of white and pale pink faux pearl earrings are signed Japan, £12.50.
The faux pearls have a beautiful glow. These are quality hand wired earrings made in Japan circa 1950s.

After the second world war, large quantities of low cost jewellery were made in Japan, as labour was cheap.  This jewellery was however very well made, and the pearls were used by high end designers such as Miriam Haskell.

This brooch - probably dating from the 1950's - was made by one of the few British costume jewellery companies that actually put their name on some of what they produced!  The firm was called W.A.P. Watson Ltd. and they were based in Solihull.  They started in 1914 and went out of production in the 1970's.  This brooch has painted flowers on gilt metal.  See description on my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com - price £45 reference 2636.
